That is the sustainability commitment that we, at SOIC Ship Management AB, have made, because it is an obvious requirement for continued life and development on our planet.

We are all aware of the problems caused by all kinds of marine pollution, marine debris and nutrient pollution, harvesting and overfishing, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and destructive fishing practices. Together we can identify and point out possible solutions. Our strong believe that this is possible, is our driving force.

The seas and oceans are a prerequisite for life. At the same time, they give us food and water and they can now also give us clean and renewable energy. They facilitate efficient and clean transportation, a demand of global trade. Götheborg sails, using the wind as energy. A technology that modern ships now are starting to apply.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 14 as our guiding star:

Consequently, we have introduced the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 14 as our guiding star:

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.

That is a goal fully in line with our own values and the way we believe we shall operate.

Shipping and trade were cornerstones in building Sweden and our hometown Gothenburg. It is still the key to our prosperity. The Swedish Ship Götheborg is a symbol of our history and our entrepreneur spirit. The same spirit that today is enabling our next sailing expedition where our focus will be on the UN Goal 14.
